HVDF Annual Meeting Travel Awards: Sponsored by Edwards Lifesciences Foundation

We are pleased to announce that travel grants are now available for eligible participants attending the upcoming Heart Valve Disease Forum 2025 with STS, scheduled to take place on September 12(Fri.)–13(Sat.), in Seoul, South Korea.

These grants aim to support Health care Professionals from low- and middle-income countries who are presenting their work at the conference. The program offers travel support of up to $1,300 for attendance at the HVDF-STS Meeting. This funding is designated for Health care Professionals practicing at under-resourced medical centers, who are actively engaged in the care of heart valve disease patients within underserved communities.



Eligibility Criteria

  • Presenting author of an accepted abstract (oral or poster)
  • Health Care professional involved in heart valve disease care, including:
    • Cardiac surgeons, interventionalists, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, nurses, physician assistants, and clinical investigators
  • Physicians from the eligible countries listed below:
    • Asia-Pacific countries exclude South Korea, Japan and Mainland China (Applicants from Hong Kong are eligible)
  • Must be registered for and attend the conference in person



Grant Coverage

  • Only return economy airfares and accommodation for the conference; travel must occur within 24 hours before the event, with no early arrival or extended stay.
  • The amount awarded may vary depending on the applicant's location and overall demand



Application Requirements

  • Copy of accepted abstract
  • Curriculum vitae or biosketch (maximum 2 pages)
  • The receipt the air-line (or E-ticket) with copy of your passport (Eligible travel dates are from September 11 to September 14)
  • The receipt of your accommodation between 11th and 14th September (Book yourself the hotel nearby venue)
  • The airfares and accommodation receipt must be in the grant recipient`s names
  • Proof of trainee or early-career status (if applicable)



Review Process

All applications will be reviewed by the HVDF Committee for final selection. The committee will place particular emphasis on the potential impact of the award in improving care for underserved populations in the applicant’s home country.
Final decisions will be made based on the overall quality of the application and alignment with the mission of promoting equitable access to heart valve care in Asia-Pacific countries.
